The Rainbow Mountain Tour is the perfect cultural and natural tour of some of Cusco’s most important sights and scenes. Experience the magnificence of «The mountain of 7 colors» known as “Vinincunca” or Rainbow Mountain; visit some of the most important glaciers of the Salkantay range, learn about the rich history of the Incas. Visit the farmers and see Llamas and Alpacas. The tour is challenging doe to the Altitude but you have the option to take horse for an extra US$ 30. During the tour you’ll be escorted by professional and experienced tour Guide. We’ll provide a comfortable bus and lunch in the zone of Cusipata.

CUSCO – CUSIPATA – LLAQTO – CUSCO

The Rainbow Mountain Tour begins when we pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 04:30am. In this program we will visit one of the new natural attractions of Cusco «The mountain of the 7 colors». We will travel by car for approximately two hours to the south of the city of Cusco until we reach the village of Cusipata where we will stop for breakfast, then we will travel by car for an additional hour until we reach the point control and begin the walk (Llaqto). We will walk approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. While we walk, we will observe the typical flora and fauna of the Andes, among which the presence of Llamas and Alpacas, we will cross beautiful gorges and we will see snowy peaks.

When we arrive at the viewpoint of Vinicunca or Montaña de Colores (5080 meters above sea level). Our guide will give us an explanation about the orography, the ecosystem and the color of the mountain, we can also take advantage of the moment to observe the Vinicunca mountain range (5020 m / 16,466 ft), take photos and admire the magnificent landscape, then We will return the same path to the starting point of the walk (Llaqto) where our transport will be waiting for us and take us back to Cusipata, where we will enjoy the buffet lunch. After lunch, we will begin the trip back to the city of Cusco, arriving between 4 and 5 in the afternoon.
