Maras & Moray Tour Half Day

Today our tourist bus will be in your hotel at 8:00am and take you to the village of Maras where you’ll visit its colonial church and streets; then we continue to the first archaeological center of Moray or Muray (Quechua), this archaeological center is unique. In this place, we will observe the circular terraces at different levels, aqueducts for agricultural experimentation, each level or platform served as a planting place due to its climatic conditions and other characteristics, it was an important center of domestication, acclimatization and hybridization of wild plant species that have been modified or adapted for human consumption.

After Moray, we continue by bus to Salineras (Salt mines); this salt was obtained in Maras by the evaporation of saltwater from a local underground stream, there are more than 3,000 small salt wells that are managed by the inhabitants of Maras village, in fact this salt is processed for consumption. After that we’ll return to Cusco arrival at approximately 2:30 pm. Free afternoon
