Humantay Lagoon Tour One Day

CUSCO – MOLLEPATA – SORAYPAMPA – LAGUNA HUMANTAY – CUSCO

The trip begins when our transfer will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 04:30 in the morning, we will make a 2.5-hour trip by car to the town of Mollepata (2,800masl), where we can have breakfast and purchase some provisions for the trip. After breakfast, we will continue our journey for an hour and a half by car; this part is not paved road until we reach the community of Soraypampa, which is located at an altitude of 3,800 meters above sea level.

During the trip we will see beautiful landscapes and the impressive «Salkantay» Mountain covered in snow. From Soraypampa, we will walk 2km. The path is uphill and will take us about an hour and a half to two, while we walk, we will see a panorama of snow-capped mountains, impressive natural landscapes and a great diversity of flora and fauna until we reach the «Laguna de Humantay», which is an altitude of 4200 meters above sea level.

The «Laguna Humantay» is turquoise due to the mineral found in the background, the lagoon feeds on mountain glaciers and is considered a jewel of nature, in addition to enjoying the Humantay lagoon, we can enjoy the Stunning view of the surrounding mountains. After all we’ll descend on foot to the community of Soraypampa where we can have lunch. After lunch, we will begin the journey back to the city of Cusco. Our visit ends around 6:30 in the afternoon.
